Faithful Man

On ancient paths of the everlasting way…

Day One: Morning

Today is the first day of the “Esther fast” in support of A Million Women fasting and praying on the mall in Washington, DC. The dramatic increase in immorality observed in American culture in recent history has compelled these faithful, believing women to take time off work and caring for their families to spend their hard earned money gathering together to repent for themselves and the nation for of our sins against God and to plead for His mercy and intervention. To the non Judeo/Christian person, fasting and prayer might appear rather impotent compared to activities such as striking, boycotting, or rioting. To those of us who believe God’s word and are familiar with history, we know that the weapons that God gives his people are spiritual and powerful:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…” (2 Cor 10:4,5

We also know the truth about what we are seeking relief from.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Eph 6:12)

Consequently, A Million Women on the Mall is much more exiting and effective, in my humble opinion, than any legislation, election, boycott, or strike. Primarily because success in battling spiritual forces that are suppressing, and oppressing righteousness will result in righteous changes to the status quo of our society. Laws, elections and such will change because people will change – for the better. Oppression will lift, light will come, safety and peace will increase.

Believers the world over have heard of and indicated their support for and participation in the Million Women on the Mall fast. The magnitude and focus of this occurrence is unprecedented and bodes well for the citizens of earth as western culture truly leads the way for much of the globe, for better or worse.

Pray on Brothers and Sister, pray on.
